1. Question :  Do the alien granted one year extension of stay permit have to notify his/her address every 90 day?
    Answer :  He/She has to notify his/her address every 90 days by the Form of TM 47.

2. Question :  What do the house-master/owner or possessor of the residence have to do,if  the alien granted temporary stay in Thailand has stayed in his/her house/residence? (Is it possible for an agent to do for?)
    Answer :  He/She (The owner of the residence) must notify (by the Form TM.30) to the competent official Of the Immigration Office located in the same area of that house/residence within 24 hours from the time of arrival of the alien. However, such notification could be made in person or by an agent or sent with completed Form( TM.30) by registered post.

3. Question  :  What are documents required for 90 days notification of residence ?
    Answer :  In case of notifying in person or made by agent, documents required are as follows;
The alien’s passport ( original )
Completed form of notification (TM.47) signed by the owner of passport
The latest receipt of notification ( if any)

4. Question : What is the punishment in case of late/not notifying of residence every 90 days ?
    Answer : -In case notifying in person, the alien will be punished with a fine of 2,000 Bath.
              -  In case of  being arrested for not notifying on the due date, the fine is 4,000 Bath and with an additional fine of 200 Bath for each day which passes until the law is complied with.

5. Question : Is it possible for any agent to make 90 days notification of  residence on behalf of the alien? If so,how could it be done?
    Answer :  The agent could make 90 days notification of  residence  on behalf of the alien by holding the alien’s passport, completed Form of Notification (TM.47) signed by the owner of the passport, and the latest receipt of notification (if any) However,it could be done on condition that the date of notification is not overdue

6. Question :  Where is the place to make 90 days notification?
    Answer :  In case of notifying in person or by agent, it must be made at the Provincial Immigration office located in the same area of the alien’s residence.

7. Question : Where is the place to make 90 days notification of residence if The alien residing in Bangkok?
    Answer : For the alien residing in Bangkok, notification must be made at the following office – 90 days Report section

8. Question : Is there any other way to make 90 days notification of address if not notifying in person or by agent? If so,what are documents required and procedure?
      Answer  :    In case of not notifying in person or by agent, the alien could notify his/her address every 90 days by sending registered post. Required documents and procedures are as follow ;
 Photocopy of the alien passport on pages of front page (name, surname, date of issue, expired date etc.) , current visa , latest arrival stamp of immigration, and the current stamp of extention of temporary stay.
Photocopy of departure card (TM.6) both sides.
The original of the latest receipt of  90 days notification (if any, in case of no departure)
Filling up the Form TM.47 and signed by the alien.
Stamped addressed envelop (size 6.5X9 inches) attached with at least 10 Baht stamp in order to send back the receipt and new form (TM47) to the alien.
Enclose all documents from 1-5 in the envelope which must be sent by registred post to the Immigration Office located in the same area of the alien’s residence. Such documents have to be sent in advance not shorter than 7 days before the due date. ( the receipt of the said registered post must be kept as evidence)

9. Question : Where is the place that the house owner or possessor of the residence have to notify list of the aliens residing in his/her residence within 24  hours?
      Answer : In case of the house/residence located in the area of Bangkok,it must be notified at the Immigration Division 1, Government Complex,Chaengwattana Road Bangkok.For other provinces, it must be notified at Provincial Immigration Office located in that area or the local police station if there is no Immigration Office.

10.Question : How could we get the Notification Form for house-master/owner/possessor of the residence where alien has stayed(Form TM.30)?
      Answer : You could get that Form(TM.30) from any Immigration office in Thailand or download from our website www.immigration.go.th

11.Question : When is the right time that the alien      (granted one-year extension of stay permit) has to make 90 days notification of address if he/she has left the kingdom and re-entered with re-entry permit?
      Answer : As The alien re-enter the kingdom, the notification of residence should be made when it’s due for 90 days from the date of his/her latest arrival.

12.Question : Is the application Form for extension of temporary stay (TM.7) deemed to be notifying of  the alien’s residence every 90 days?
      Answer :  No. Notification of address every 90 days must be made only by the Form TM.47 even The Form for extension of Temporary stay (TM.7) has mentioned the address of the alien.

13. Question : What should the alien do if he/she has lost his/her Passport and obtained the new one?
      Answer : Firstly, the alien has to report of lost passport at the nearest Police Station. Then, he/she must contact his/her Embassy in Bangkok in order get to a new passport/or other Travel Document in lieu of Passport. After receiving the new Passport/Travel Document, the alien must bring it together with the Police Report of the latest lost passport to see The Immigration official in order to obtain a copy of entry stamp and stay permit in his/her new passport/travel document.

14. Question : Do the alien have to contact in person if he/she wishes to apply for extension of temporary stay in the Kingdom? It is possible to have an agent to do for the alien?
Answer : Application for extension for temporary stay in the Kingdom must be made only in person.

15.Question  : Could the alien entering into the Kingdom with exemption of visa apply for extension of stay?  If so , for how long will they get?
      Answer : Normally, if the alien entering into the Kingdom with exemption of visa apply for extension of stay permit,he/she would get the stamp in order to leave the Kingdom within 7 days from the expried date.

16.Question : Is it possible for the alien to stay in Thailand with his Thai wife? What are the requirements?
      Answer : Alien having Thai wife could stay in Thailand under the reason of staying with his Thai wife. The requirements and documentations are as follows;
Foreign husband must obtain “Non-Immigrant visa”
Having any proof of relationship; Mariage Certificate,Birth certificate of their children(if any) etc.
Having evidences of nationality of his Thai wife; Thai ID card, her household registration Book.
Having relationship with Thai wife de jure and de facto; Family picture, map of the applicant’s residence in Thailand.
Having evidences of definite financial status of foreign husband by showing average income not less than 40,000 Baht per month or having money in the Thai Bank account of not less than 400,000 Baht which must be held consecutively not shorter than two months.

        For foreign husband working in Thailand
Work Permit
Letter from his employer verified employment and salary in details.(monthly salary must not be less than 40,000 Baht)
Evidences of  payment of annual income tax with receipt (Por Ngor Dor 1 of latest three months and Por Ngor Dor 91 of the previous year)
OR
     5.2  In case of having money in the bank account (Fix/Saving Deposit) of any bank in Thailand
           -  The updated bank passbook on the date of application submission showing his account of not less than 400,000 Baht which has been deposited and consecutively held of such amount for 2 months
           -  Letter from the bank certified that account.
OR
     5.3  In case of foreign husband having any other income (not working in Thailand) such as pension,social welfare etc.        -  Letter from the applicant’s Embassy consulate in Bangkok verified his monthly pension or other income not less than 40,000 Baht per month

17. Question : Is it possible for the alien to stay in Thailand with her Thai husband? What are the requirements?
        Answer : Alien married to Thai husband are able to stay in Thailand with her husband. Requirements and documentations are as follows;
 Foreign wife must have been granted “Non-Immigrant visa”
Having relationship with her Thai husband de jure and de facto.
Marriage Certificate, and Kor lor 2 or Family Status Registration,Birth Certificate of their-child/children(if any)
ID card of Thai husband and his household registration Book.

18.Question : Where is the place to apply for extension of temporary stay of Non-Immigrant visa if the aliens holding national passport of Asian countries?
Answer : All national obtaining Non-Immigrant visa are able to apply for extension of temporary stay at the Provincial Immigration office located in the same area of their resident. Only the alien residing in Bangkok, he/she has to contact Immigration Division 1, Government Complex (Building B) Chaengwattana Road, Thung song hong, Laksi District, Bangkok

19. Question : Could the alien having Thai son/daughter stay in the Kingdom in order to be supported?
        Answer : According to the Regulation,This case could be applied by the reason of being a family member of Thai national.The requirements are as follows;
        1.The foreginer (father/mother must have been granted “Non-Immigrant Visa”
        2.Having any proof of relationship.eg.Birth Certificate
   
        3.Having evidences of nationality of his/her Thai son/daughter eg.Thai ID Card,Household Registration
        4.Father/Mother must have average income not less than 40,000 Bath per month or having money in Thai bank account (Fixed/Saving) not less than 400,000 Bath by showing the relevant documents eg.individual income tax return together with payment receipt or  update bank passbook and certified letter from the bank or evidence of receiving retirement pension included certified letter from his/her Embassy located in Thailand.
        5.An affidavit confirming the alien’s parental status with a Thai national.

20. Question : Could the alien (about 35 year of age) stay in Thailand without working or marriage to Thai national? If so, what are the requirements?
        Answer : Yes. The said alien could stay in the Kingdom by the reason of investment of no less than 10 million Baht in Thailand. The requirements are that the alien:
 Must have been granted a “Non-Immigrant visa”
Must have evidence of transferring funds into Thailand of no less than 10 million Baht. (Copy of evidence showing a tranfer of funds from a foregin country to a bank in Thailand)
Must have evidence of investing in the purchase or rental of a condominium unit for a period of no less than 3 year issued by a relevant agency or government unit, at a purchase or rental price of no less than 10 million Baht (Copy of condominium purchase agreement and copy of the ownership registration of the said condominium issued by government or relevant agency or a copy of a long-term lease agreement are needed documents): or
Must have evidence of investing in the form of a fixed deposit of no less than 10 million Baht with the Bank which is registered in Thailand and has Thai national holding more than 50 percent of it’s shares (Funds deposit certificate issued by the bank and a copy of evidence of funds deposit are required documents) : or
Must have evidence in the purchase of government or state enterprise bonds of no less than  10 million Baht ( copies of bond certificates are needed documents) : or
Must have evidences of making an investment as set out in Criteria3),4 or 5) with a total value of not less than 10 million Baht.

21. Question : Is there any criteria for age of child/children accompanying their parents working in Thailand?
       Answer : In case of child/children, adopted child/children, or spouse’s children, the said children,adopted children or spouse’s children must not be married, must live with the alien as a part of the family and must not be over 20 years of age.

22. Question : What is the required age of the alien wisthing to stay in Thailand with the reason of Retirement?
      Answer : For reasons to stay of Retirement, the alien must be 50 year of age or older and must have been granted a Non-Immigrant visa, firstly. More over, the said alien must have evidences to verify his/her financial status of not less than 65,000 Baht per month or 800,000 Baht per year. Evidences showing financial support are as follows;
       1.  In case of having money in the bank account (Saving/Fix deposit) of any bank located in Thailand.
       -  The updated bank passbook on the date of application submission showing money in the account of not less than 800,000 Baht which has been deposited and consecutively held of such amount for 3 months. ( Except the first application for this reason, that such amount should be deposited and held for 60 days)
     -  Letter from the bank certified the current account in the bank of not less than 800,000 Baht; or
         2.2  In case of having any other income from abroad such as pension, social welfare
     -  Letter from the applicant’s Embassy or consulate in Thailand verifying their pension or other income of the applicant which must not be less than 65,000 Baht per month. Or;
        2.3  In case of a combination of having money in the bank account and income from pension, with total amount of not less than 800,000 Baht per year, the required documents are the same as mentioned in 2.1and 2.2

23. Question : For retirement reason, In case of not enough money in the bank account as required, is it possible to combine the monthly income in order to reach the total required amount.
     Answer :  Yes. The money in The bank account in Thailand could be combined with The monthly income to reach the total required amount of 800,000 Bath per year.

24. Question : For retirement reason for extension of temporary stay, could the foreign husband and wife have their combined name of the bank account as evidence?
     Answer : No, the name in the bank account must be only the name of the applicant individually.

25. Question : Is it possible for the alien wishing to stay in Thailand for the reason of medical treatment?
     Answer : Yes. In case of receiving medical treatment, the alien must have been confirmed and requested by a physician of the hospital in Thailand providing the said treatment with full explanation about illness, period of treatment and the physician’s opinion that the illness is an impediment to travel (Letter of confirmation and request for a temporary stay issued by a physician of the hospital providing the said treatment is needed document)

26. Question : Is it possible for the alien having litigation or court proceedings (Being as accuser, injured person, accused, plaintiff, defendant or witness) to apply for extention of temporary stay in Thailand?
     Answer : Yes. There must be evidence confirming that the applicant is involved in a litigation or court proceedings as accuser, injured person, accused, plaintiff, defendant or witness ( Confirmation letter from an inquiry official involved with the case, official paper or document confirming the applicant being involved with the said court proceedings of the case is required document.)

27. Question : What are required documents for a person who used to have Thai nationality holding his/her own passport of other nationality wishing to apply for extension of temporary stay in Thailand?
     Answer :  Documents proving that the applicant used to have Thai nationality or that his/her parent is or was of Thai nationality for exampke,Thai ID card,Household Registration Book,Birth Certificate.

28. Question : What should the alien do if he/she has applied for proof of Thai nationality and his/her stay permit is going to be expired?
     Answer : He/she has to apply for extension of temporary stay by the reason of proof of nationality. Letter of confirmation and request for a temporary stay from the relevant government agency is required document.

29. Question : In case of the alien having Non-Immigrant visa entering the Kingdom for installation or repair machines, what should he do if his duties has not been finished?
     Answer : He must apply for extension of temporary stay with letter of confirmation and request for a temporary stay issued by the relevant organization

30. Question : After applying for extension of temporary stay in the kingdom and such case must be under consideration of the authorized official for a period which an appointment date must be made for collecting approval permit, do the aliens have to contact in person again on that date?
     Answer :  No.In case of collecting of stay permit,The aliens may contact in person or have an agent to do for.

31 .Question : As applying for extension of temporary stay in the kingdom, if marriage certificate of the alien was issued by the official in other countries, how should such document by translated and certified?
     Answer : Such document must be translated into Thai/English version by Consulate/Embassy in Bangkok and must be seen as verification at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok.

32. Question : What are required documents for extension of temporary stay in case of working at the Embassy located in Thailand?
     Answer : It could be considered as 2 cases;
              1.  In case of the alien entering The Kingdom under Section 15(1),(2) of Immigrant  Act.B.E. 2522,required documents are as follows;
                  -   Passport
                  -   letter of confirmation and request for a temporary stay issued by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
               2.  In case of the alien entering into the Kingdom and apply for temporary stay under Section 35 of Immigration Act B.E. 2522,required documents are as follow;
                 -  Extension fee 1,900 Baht
                 -  Application from (TM.7)
                 -  Passport and Photocopy
                 -  Letter of confirmation and request for a temporary stay issued by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

33.Question : What are requires documents for extension of temporary stay in case of carrying out duties for the state enterprise.?
     Answer :    1. Letter of confirmation and request for extension issued by the relevant state enterprise
                    2. work permit

34.Question : What are required documents for extension of temporary stay in case of training research.?
     Answer :  1.  letter of confirmation and request for extension issued by the dean of that University or by the head of that research institute
                    2.  In case of conduction training or research in a private university/research Institute, The applicant must attach a letter of confirmation and request for extension issued by government agency

35. Question : What are the requirements for The Foreigner wishing to stay in The Kingdom on The purpose of staying with his/her child/children studying in Thailand?
Answer : 1. Firstly Foreigner (only father or mother) has to obtain  Non-immigrant Visa
                2. Proof of relationship
     - In case of children, they must not be married , must live with the alien as a part of the family and must not be over 20 years of age.
     – In case of parents only father or mothr must have deposit account in a bank in Thailand.
     -  Only father or mother must have deposit account in a bank in Thailand under the father’s or the mother’s name of no less than 500,000 Baht for the past three months. For the first year only,  proof of a deposit account must have been maintained no less than 30 days prior or to the date of application.

36.Question : What is the appropriate visa  for studying in Thailand? What are required documents for extension of temporary stay (one year) in this case?
     Answer : The appropriate visa for studying is “Non-Immigrant Visa” category “ED”
               In case of studying in a government educational institution, the main Required document is letter of confirmation and request for extension Issued by the educational institution, showing detailed information about the applicant’s year of education, level of curriculum, transcript of the previous semesters
               In case of studying in a private educational institution , the main required
              Documents are;
Copy of evidence of permission to establish that institution issued by The relevant government agency
Letter of confirmation and request for extension issued by the institution Showing detailed information about the applicant’s years of education; Level of curriculum and, transcript of previous semesters.
Confirmation letter issued by a government agency at the departmental Level or by the Provincial Governor in charge of that particular Institution
( except in the case of studying at the International school and at the  university)

37.Question : What are required documents for extension in case of studying at  the International school.?
     Answer : 1) Copy of evidence of permission to establish that institution issued by the relevant government agency
                2) Letter of confirmation and request for extension issued by the institution Showing detailed information about the applicant’s years of education; level of curriculum and, transcript of previous semesters.

38.Question : What are requires documents for extension of temporary stay in case of carrying Out duties for the state enterprise.?
     Answer : 1) letter of confirmation and request for extension issued by the state enterprise
                2) work permit

39.Question : What do the alien holding Alien Registration Book have to do if he/she wishes to leave the Kingdom with intention to return?
     Answer : First, The said alien has to obtain Residence Certificate by applying at Immigration Division 1 or Immigration Check-Point located the same area of has/her resident. Document required for Residence Certificate are as follow;
     1.  Passport of alien
     2.  Alien Registration Book
     3.  House Registration and its Photocopy
     4.  Document of legal entering
     5.  4 Photographs (size 4X6 cm.)
     6.  Application fee is 19,000 Baht
     After having Residence Certificate, he/she must apply for Endorsement of Departure in his/her Passport before leaving the Kingdom. Required Documents are as follows;
     1.  Passport of alien
     2.  Residence Certificate
     3.  Alien Registration Book
     4.  2 Photographs (size 4X6 cm.)
     5.  Application Fee for:
          - Endorsement of departure       1,900  Baht
         -  Non-Quota Immigrant Visa    1,900  Baht for single entry
                                                            3,800  Baht  for multiple entry
40.Question : What should the alien have to do in case of lost of Residence Certificate?
     Answer : Firstly, the alien has to notify the case of lost to the Police Station. Then he/she has to take that police report to the authorized Immigration Official in order to receive a substitute. Required Documents are as follows;
     1.  Passport of the alien
     2.  Alien Registration Book
     3.  House Registration Book and its Photocopy
     4.  Police Report
     5.  4 Photographs (4X6 cm.)
     6.  Free: 1,900 Baht

41.Question : What do the alien having residence permit in the Kingdom have to do if his/her Residence Certificate has not enough space of pages for Endorsement of Departure?
     Answer : He/She must submit application for changing Residence Certificate at the Immigration Office or Immigration Check-Point ( For the alien residing in Bangkok, contact Immigration Division 1, Government Complex Building B, Chaengwattana) Required documents are as follows;
     1.  Passport of the alien
     2.  Residence Certificate
     3.  Alien Registration Book
     4.  House Registration Book and its Photocopy
     5.  4 Photographs (size 4X6 cm.)
     6. Fee: 1,900 Baht

42.Question : In case of the Chinese having in Thailand for more than 50 years and holing only Alien Registration Book, what do they have to do if they wish to leave the Kingdom with intention to return?
    Answer : If the Residence certificate has never been issued because the said alien was granted permission to reside in the country before the regulation to obtain a Residence Certificate at the Immigration Division Government Complex Building B, Chaengwattana (for the alien residing in Bangkok ) or at the Immigration Check-Point located the same area of the alien resident. Document required are as follows;
     1.  Passport of the alien
     2.  Alien Registration Book
     3.  House Registration Book and its Photocopy
     4.  Document of legal entering
     5.  6 Photographs (size 4X6 cm.)
     6.  Fee is 19,000 Baht

43.Question : What are the required document for Endorsement of Departure and Non-Quota Immigrant Visa (Re-entry Permit) if the alien holding the Residence Certificate wishes to leave the Kingdom and with intention to return?
     Answer : The alien must contact authorized Immigration Office/Check-point located In the same area of his/her Residence Certificate and Non-Quota Immigrant Visa (Re-entry Permit) in his/her Passport. In case of such alien residing in Bangkok, he/she has to contact Immigration Division 1 at Government Complex Building B Chaengwattana Road, Bangkok. Required documents for this case are as follows;
     1.  Passport of the alien
     2.  Residence Certificate
     3.  Alien Registration Book
     4.  2 Photographs (size 4X6 cm.)
     5.  Application Fee for Endorsement is 1,900 Baht and
          Application Fee for Non-Quota Immigrant Visa is 1,900 Baht for single entry or 3,800 Baht for Multiple entry

44.Question : How can foreigners get detailed information about resident permit?
    Answer :

45.Question : What kind of resident permit that foreigners can get?
    Answer : Categories of application
                1. Investment
                2.  Employment
                3.  Humanitarian reasons as follows:
                     3.1  Spouse:To provide patronage or to be under patronage of a Thai national spouse,
                     3.2  Child: To provide patronage or to be under patronage of a Thai national father or mother,
                     3.3  Father or mother: To provide patronage or to be under patronage of the applicant’s Thai national child,
                     3.4  Spouse: To provide patronage or to be under patronage of the applicant’s spouse who was granted with residential permit,

46.Question : What is qualification of the eligible applicant to be considered for residential permit?
    Answer : Foreign national applicant  must hold a passport that bears a Non-Immigrant Visa and was granted with one-year visa extensions which reveal that up until the date of application submission, the applicant have been staying in the Kingdom for at least 3 consecutive years.

47.Question : Where and How to make Alien Registration Book?
    Answer : Contact the local police station which is responsible for the area where the foreigner resides in Required Documents are as follows:
               1.  Residence certificate and photocopy
               2.  House registration book (which foreigner needs to add his name for registration) and photocopy
               3.  6 of 2 inch-Photographs
               4.  In case of minor (child/children under 16 years of age), such foreigner must be accompanied by parents or guardians

48.Question : What are requirements of applying for Alien Registration Book?
    Answer : 1.  The foreigner who needs to apply for Alien Registration Book must be 12 years of age or older.
                2.  Residence Certificate and photocopy
                - The application of Alien Registration Book must be submitted at the local police station within 7 days from the date of the receiving of Residence Certificate or within 7 days from the date that such foreigner has reached the age of 12. Whoever fails to comply with this regulation will be punished as a fine 500 Baht for overdue.
                 - Extension fee of Alien Registration book is 200 Baht per year.

49.Question : How to add or correct some details in Alien Registration Book?
    Answer : Contact :
               1.  Local Police station which Alien Registration Book was issued.

Required Documents are as follow:

50.Question : What type of visa for Buddhist Monks to study Buddhism in Thailand?
    Answer : They must obtain Non-Immigrant Visa.

51.Question : What do foreigners have to do , if they have been granted stay permit for one year and must leave the kingdom?

52.Question : How could the foreigners change type of visa? And What is the relation regulations?
    Answer : The foreigners could change type of visa under specific regulations required documents must be completed.

54.Question : What should the factory company do if they want to employ foreigners?
    Answer : Firsty, the foreigners must obtain the appropriate visa: “Non-Immigrant Visa” category “B” for working.
